Source Dental is proud to introduce the newest member to our team, Dr. Ramesh Agrawal. We are excited about Dr. Agrawal’s experience in orthodontics and look forward to giving our patients a better smile!

We sat down with Dr. Agrawal to get to know him better. Continue reading to hear what he has to say!

Why did you decide to become a dentist?

My inclination towards dentistry was born almost three decades back when I received my braces treatment. At first, I was highly intrigued by my orthodontist’s high-end and techy practice. It was later I learned the true value of being in this profession. The turning point of my life was when my braces came off, and I cherished that smile, leading me towards fostering the same happiness for my community members. I became interested in a healthcare career and then developed my passion for helping others learn about their oral health.

I believe in connecting with my patients and giving the most compassionate care possible to help support their safety and well-being. My favourite aspect of being a dentist has always been learning new applications and approaches to caring for patients.

Throughout my career, I’ve had opportunities to mentor Dentists, Orthodontists, assistant dentists, hygienists and technicians and work with many diverse individuals. These experiences have helped me build my leadership skills, knowledge in management and ability to connect with others. Because of these opportunities, I’ve continued to grow in my career.

The fire for dentistry is deeply rooted, and my morning Mantra is “I’m genuinely passionate about advancing my career as an orthodontic provider.”

What is the most fulfilling part of the job?

Smiling makes people feel good and positive, conveying a sense of goodwill, rapport and trust. I work for your smile. When I remove the braces for my patients, happiness emerges – “Oh my god, this looks amazing, I can’t believe it’s me” is the most fulfilling part of my work. I remember a young female patient whom I had treated ten years before. I still receive compliments from her, and she always states, “Dr. Agrawal, you changed my life. I feel more confident and complete now. I can smile with no apprehension, and people admire me for my looks.” No other profession can give you this level of satisfaction. Dentistry can give meaning to someone’s life and be the basis for their lifelong happiness.

Also, dentists are always learning new skills and techniques, and dentistry is a field that continues to grow and evolve. My interest in newer technology is the driving force, and I ensure I utilize all the latest tools in enhancing my treatment outcomes.

Needless to say, Orthodontics plays a pivotal role in improving the quality of life. As a dentist, you’ll be able to use your skills and knowledge to improve your patients’ oral health, which can positively impact their overall well-being. It’s rewarding to know that you’re helping your patients live healthier, happier lives. Dentistry is a great choice if you’re looking for a career that is both personally and professionally rewarding.

What would you like to say to new patients?

While your eyes may be the window to your soul, your mouth can sometimes indicate your physical and mental health. Poor oral health has been linked to many systemic diseases. Aside from this, having teeth and healthy gums are true blessings that not everyone is lucky enough to have and need to be treated as such. They grant you the ability to flash a bright smile to all your peers and opponents. We work for the goal of your healthy and long-lasting smile. We encourage you to visit us and take back beautiful smiles with you.

Motto of life: Smile, smile, and smile. Let us work together towards your confident smile. The journey is beautiful and exciting with Dr. Agrawal at Source Dental.

What are your goals for 2023?

Each practitioner should embrace the idea of determining where you are and where you imagine you want to be by the end of next year. For me, a perfect place to start is by reviewing historical performance across the major treatment driving key performance indicators. Patient satisfaction and successful treatment in the most efficient way is my everyday goal, and it will continue for 2023. I wish my skills can benefit as many individuals as possible in the growing Canadian community.

Every year, I begin structuring the road map to accelerating growth by identifying which growth levers need fine-tuning and how to ensure best compliments from the patients and parents.

When it comes to continued learning, I have my eyes wide open and my feet firmly on the ground. In other words, I keep myself abreast with what’s happening in the market around you and with your specialty.

I come from a teaching background and believe strongly in learning and sharing. I will continue to increase the frequency of training sessions for my team.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

In his spare time, I enjoy moments with my family. This includes spending time outdoors, playing, and travelling. Most of all, I love and cherish spending time with my family and friends.
